The Aqua Adventure is a 2003 model twin-engine vessel with an upper sun deck and a lower, shaded deck that seats 40 people comfortably. Two stair-like ladders offer easy access to the water and there are fresh water showers to rinse off the salt after your ocean adventure.
This vessel leaves from Ma’alaea harbor later than many of the other boats. However, this boat is fast, cruising at 20 knots, and will arrive at the first destination ahead of most. Unless, of course, they take some time to enjoy the spectacular movements of our winter-resident humpback whales. Whale-watching is part of the tour during whale season (December-April). At any time of year, you might spot some spinner or bottlenose dolphins playing in the wake of the boat.
Aqua Adventures offers GoPro rentals and professional underwater photos done by Aqua Motion Images. Capture your own memories and/or take home some great images that capture your family in the excitement of the day.
Upon arriving at Molokini crater, a small, crescent-shaped island that offers some of the best underwater enjoyment, you will receive instruction on your equipment before getting into the water. You can enjoy the underwater world snorkeling or you might opt to go a little deeper and SNUBA, which allows you to dive up to 10 feet with an inflatable raft that follows you with your air tank. SNUBA is easy and fun for anyone 8 years and older and in good health. After exploring Molokini, the vessel will take you to Turtle Arches, off the Makena coast, where you will find many green sea turtles to swim with and take photos of. Please don’t try to touch them as they are one of Hawaii’s protected marine species.
To keep your energy up, Aqua Adventures provides a continental breakfast upon leaving Ma’alaea as well as a deli-style lunch after snorkeling and diving. On the ride back you may enjoy a cold beer, Mai Tai or Rum & coke to finish off the adventure, which ends at 12:00 noon.
Aqua Adventures specializes in small, private group charters, wedding parties and family adventures.
